DIY Tragus

To begin with, I have this passion for body mods and once I get an idea in my head, it'll lurk there until I get it done. Needless to say I have experience it piercing both myself and others although I have yet to obtain the "professional piercer" title. Which is due to being under aged. Although I know this is something to look down on I do what I do simply because it is part of what I enjoy. Body modifications are a way of life, not some trend or a "cool" thing. You're either in it for the ... read more

Tragus punch (2,5mm/10ga)

Prologue About three years ago I had one tragus pierced at 1,6mm, and a year later I had another one pierced. And a year after  that, when they both had settled down, I decided I wanted to stretch them to a size somewhere around 5mm/4ga. So I grabbed myself some lubricant and gently pushed a 2mm single flared plug through the oldest tragus piercing. The stretching itself was pain-free, but the following night was the start of a bad series of nights. My ear was so painful that I couldn't even sleep on it! And this pain held on for a lot ... read more

The not so visible tragus piercing

Just like every other piercing that I have this was a spur of the moment piercing, minimal thought put into it, the usual for me. This is probably why I only have subtle, easily hidden piercings and no tattoos. I really have too many other things that I need to think about, getting a discreet piercing is fun and requires minimal thought, or at least that's how I like to think about it. Unlike other piercings which were basically minutes or hours after the thought first popped into my head there was actually a delay of a few days between ... read more

Eyebrow + helix

So a couple days ago I decided to head into Planet Ink in Ottawa for a couple new piercings. They have a 2 for $85 deal which I obviously had to take advantage of. I think on Wednesdays it's 2 for $65 but I'm not from Ottawa and I was only going to be there for a few days so I just took what I could get. I went in on a Sunday at like 11 am, and to my surprise the piercer was in and available. In my hometown we have one tattoo parlor and the piercer is only ... read more

DIY Tragus Experience

If you don't like DIY stories please read no further. As with most DIY stories I'll start with saying don't do this, it's not safe and there are  serious risks. That being said you are reading this because your contemplating a DIY project. All I can say is make sure you are prepared, start with googling steril protocol, order or purchase steril supplies and try to make your project as safe as possible.   On with the story. I'm old enough to handle myself and my body, I'm in my mid thirties, aware of steril protocol due to my ... read more

my lobes as of today

I had my Lobes scallpeled about 2 years ago and the process was pretty terrible at first. I bled a lot and had blood crusties for weeks. The person who I had do it was a tattoo artist and said he had done a lot. I wish I had gone to someone who really knew what they were doing, I now have little pieces that are on each side preventing me from stretching evenly. I want to get them fixed but wonder if they will heal well. I was at 1/2 and was cut to a full 1", so my ... read more

Worth it?

Last year, I went through a really hard time in my life and in an uproar of stupid teenage rebellion I ran away from my problems, psychologically and physically. With an Amtrak ticket from Penn Station to Springfield Massachusetts I felt like the further I went, the easier life would get, so from Massachusetts I would buy yet another train ticket elsewhere. On my way to the city, the train stopped at Jamaica and the first thing I saw was "Free Piercings." The sign brought a smile to my face and beckoned me to step off the train. Lured by ... read more

this is not a test...

I'm not one of those people who decides to poke holes in her body out of boredom, but this time...was simply one of those times. Fresh out of college for the summer, I decided to get a new body mod that had just as much attitude as I. That was when I had made the choice to get an industrial. I knew that it was very pleasing, aesthetically, in my eyes, but at the same time, a bitch to heal. I also knew the risks of piercing cartilage, especially two pieces of cartilage at once. I had done my research ... read more

Slicing My Lobes

I have been stretching my ears on and off for about 4 years now. I've met and surpassed more than one goal that I thought would be my end result, only to decide later that I wanted to go bigger. Eventually I decided that 1" would be my final result and, this time, I think that it actually is my final result and I am finally finished stretching for good. It's a very satisfying feeling coupled with the knowledge that I'll finally be able to start collecting up different plugs and tunnels to wear in my ears. Over the course ... read more

Self-Pierced Lobes

I can't say it was a bad experience or anything, piercing my own ears. It wasn't painful in the least. Just sore for a few days after the initial piercing. They're not that uneven. You can only tell if you're looking for it. My right ear actually, told to me by a professional, was done/pierced perfectly. I've done several piercings in my spare time, actually. Such piercings include - multiple [5-6] pairs of ears, including some stretching, one lower lip piercing, a Monroe [self], a knee [non-deep], and several other piercings. Though I'm not certified, I don't charge for my ... read more
