Both nipples done (female experience)

I had decided I wanted my nipples pierced a couple months back. My boyfriend currently lives 2000 miles away and we only see each other once a month so we figured me getting them done after a visit would be best (for healing purposes). There's only one piercer in my area I am comfortable with so I drove the hour and fifteen minutes to the shop she works (Blue Flame Tattoo in Raleigh) to get them done. This was not my first piercing. My current piercings consist of a VCH and a belly button ring. My retired piercings consist of ... read more

Third Conch's the Charm!

First off, this may be a little long, but I feel the need to explain some things before getting into the experience of my third conch. I don't want anyone to have to go through what I have been through, so please bear with me. I recently wrote another experience on here about my second conch piercing. I thought everything was going to be alright, I mean the place I went to seemed sterile, everything seemed clean and whatnot. But things took a turn for the worst.  Ever since the day I got my second conch piercing, it constantly felt ... read more

When Piercing Cartilage; The Pros and Cons

So, to start, I am a self professed piercing junkie. The majority of what I have resides on either my earlobes or the outer shell. As of now, I have one tragus, six cartilage, and 6 stretched piercings on my lobes. Two at 0's, two at 4's, and two at 6's (gauge). However, the one place I've always found to be a pain was my cartilage. I've pierced (or re-pierced) all six of my cartilage piercings and let me tell you, it never gets easier. The skin can swell, it can go bloody, the cartilage may be pierced through but ... read more

My girlie tattoo

Since my student times I was fascinated by pin-up tattoos, but when I started looking for a design I just couldn't find what I was looking for. 12 years ago I stumbled across a picture of Mata Hari, the WWI spy and exotic dancer. I knew the picture of this sexy, nearly naked woman would be perfect to put on my body. With a roomy I went to a tattoo parlor to have a little design done on my forearm, so I could see her all the time. The tattooist looked at my drawings, he said the work would be ... read more

Shoulder Memorial Tattoo

So I'm going to start this off by saying if you want a tattoo, really want one, just get it done. Does it hurt? Yes. Does it hurt enough to keep you from doing it? No.  My Grandma died the morning of my brothers 18th birthday, 10-1-10, from creutzfeldt-jakob disease. She died not knowing who we were, and angry at the world in general. Before she died, I never would have gotten a tattoo. She was one of those old southern ladies, mean as a snake, who when they said 'get a tattoo and i'll take it right back offa ya ... read more

My wonderful conch piercing!

If you had asked me a few months ago about getting my conchs pierced I would have told you "There is no way in Hell that I am doing that!" I especially wouldn't of ever told you that I was getting both done. I had always thought of conch piercings as extreme and those that only heavily modded people got. They looked so painful and I just couldn't imagine doing that to myself. Well a couple months ago I had planned on making a trip up to Jacksonville, Fl to visit a few friends in April and as custom my friend Taylor and ... read more

tattoos for cancer research

At the end part of last year (2011) we found out that my aunt had breast cancer, as you can probably imagine it was a massive shock and no one really knew what to do. I was talking to my mum about it and she said it would be nice to maybe to the race for life to show her our support and raise some money for cancer research at the same time, and that we could get the rest of our family to get involved too. At first I thought this was a brilliant idea and I started thinking ... read more

smiley, frowny and tongue web piercing

The first time I saw a smiley piercing was on a girl at the pub I had just started working at. My initial reaction was to wonder who on earth would want one of those? The more I thought about it though, the more I realised just how beautiful it was, and so personal too! No one need know it was there if you don't want them too. So I headed on over to bme and looked at some of the uploaded photos. I gradually realised that this would be my next piercing. After reading up on the risks though, ... read more

Scary septum...not so scary

I've always been wary about septum piercings, right from when I was about sixteen and read somewhere that it was incredibly painful. I had both nostrils pierced in my teens and they were both so bad, I assumed that the septum would be off the scale in terms of pain! To be honest, this has left me with a bit of a fascination for other people's septum piercings. I frequently embarrass myself every time I meet anybody with one, going, 'Oo did it hurt?' Fast forward a few years, and I was feeling braver.   It's coming up to the ... read more

nostril piercing

Firstly, let me say  that my parents are dead against piercings and tattoos. They're a bit more relaxed about piercings, as at least you can take those out, tattoos however are with you for life pretty much. I have many piercings, but nothing really on my face, so whilest my parents aren't fond of them, at least they're hidden. But I figured, I've moved out, gone to a different city and living with my partner, why not get a piercing I've wanted for ages? It took a few days, but eventually I worked up the courage to go and get ... read more
