A wild tribal tongue piercing appears...

This is the lovely tale of how and why I decided to stick a "tribal hole" in my tongue... I was eighteen and had been into piercings since a young age. Though I came from a very traditional Middle Eastern family my mother allowed me to get my second ear piercings and at seventeen I had acquired an industrial piercing and a nose piercing. I was in love with my industrial, it looked great and was a fun piercing to have in general. My nose was a different story. I loved the idea of a nose piercing. My mom had ... read more

Helix Piercing

I had my helix pierced around two months ago, and I guess it was almost predetermined by my previous tragus piercing.  While in most cases the act, ritual, process, whatever you want to call it, of undergoing the piercing has been symbolic (the pain of change, control over my own physicality, expressing/releasing/manifesting a moment of or period of emotional pain, etc) the placement has always been purely asthetic and serves as nothing more or less than a function of how I want myself to look in the long run.  Being a male I have never wanted symmetry of the piercings ... read more

Rook Piercing

In the months following my tragus piercing, I noticed that it was much more widespread (movie stars, highschool students, the waiter at Applebee's) than when I'd originally got the idea in my head 2 or 3 years ago, and sought out something at least somewhat more unique.  Quickly my eyes were drawn to the rook piercing and over the following weeks I began reading people's experiences with this area.  Most stories fell into 3 categories; minimal to moderate pain; hurts pretty damn bad; and absolutely excruciating with some stating it felt worse than having their nipples done.  Furthermore, many of those in ... read more

My awkward industrial

I never saw the appeal about industrials when everyone around me started getting one - it looked bulky and crude to me, but when my right ear started to look far too empty with its  standard lobes, suddenly the idea started to spark my interest and with some massive browsing around, looking at industrial bars and photos of people with healed industrial projects I saw the beauty in it. How hipster of me. So I gave myself a few weeks to lose interest in the idea because that's how I roll - and when I didn't, I decided to order ... read more

From 6mm lobes to 6mm lobes – a tale of irony.

This all started way back in 2010 when I discovered that I had far too much scar tissue to stretch my ears properly, from years of mistreating them. It took me a while but I found a gentleman who was apparently proficient in ear lobe scalpelling; my first scalpelling experience is covered in in this experience from 2011. After that I really should have known something was wrong because we both ended up with acrylic in our freshly cut lobes. After a few months being at 10mm, I decided that I wanted to be bigger and consulted Dan again on possibly ... read more

My Navel, Finally

I had wanted my navel pierced for long time. I am turning 26, and if memory serves I was 12 when I first really felt like that was something I wanted. This was something I've wanted for a long time, and haven't done for myself until now. As an adult, I kept telling myself that I had to lose 10 pounds, 20 pounds, 30 pounds, etc. until I would do it. This had gone on for years and years! It seemed like a good incentive, but I came to realize that I would never be happy enough with my body ... read more

Stretching Ear Lobe to 8g

Out of the 4 lobe piercings I have, I have successfully stretched three of them multiple times.  The largest is now 8g and began in a piercing that I've had for about 17 years now.  My mother took me to the mall when I was about 10 and I had my left lobe pierced with a gun.  Although there were never any major complications it remained a nusiance for the 2ish years that I wore it.  Knowing what I know now I'm not surprised.  Being young my mom did most of the aftercare for me including twisting the stud around ... read more

Tragus Piercing

Roughly three months ago I decided to finally get my tragus on my left ear pierced.  I first noticed the piercing years ago at bars and clubs, mostly on girls, and I found it very attractive but always regarded it as more of a feminine look.  At the time I wasn't much into piercings; I'd had my left lobe done when I was around 9 or 10 at the mall but after about a year of my mom treating it all the wrong ways (getting it done with a gun, using conventional jewelry, cleaning with alcohol, etc) I got tired ... read more

Crossing a Bridge

It was about time to get yet another piercing added to my little collection. After some cranky healing time for my inverse navel (which still is having issues), the piercing bug bit me yet again. This time I wanted a vertical philtrum, yummy! My mind was so set, I told myself friday I would do it! However, after a long day at Wonderland and my piercer closing at 8, it wasn't looking too well so... Saturday! So Saturday, May 26th came around and I slept over at my friend Kat's the night before. She's a fanatic like me so I ... read more

The Cyber Bites

I turned 17 on the 9th. So, of course, I got a piercing to celebrate the joyous occasion. About two weeks before then, I inquired to my mother if I could get a labret. She, as usual, looked at me horrified and inquired the age old question of "Why?" to which I replied that it would bring me happiness. After some badgering, she finally gave in. But I was still not satisfied. I know, I know, i should be! After all, I get a brand new, shiny piercing, glinting perfectly in the sun. However, I was not. I asked for ... read more
