Tragus Piercing - all healed well.

Upon getting my tragus piercing, I had no idea what to expect. I had done no research on the piercing, and aside from thinking it was absolutely gorgeous on others, I had no idea about its pain level, or healing process. Even so, I was ecstatic to get this new piercing, and excitedly awaited the needle. I had a few problems with the piercing after due to my lack of knowledge, however, as soon as I knew what I was doing, all healed well! With this, I recommend doing this research. Though I must say, this impromptu piercing was one ... read more

The Rise and Fall of a 10 Gauge Stretch

I remember when I went. It was an adventure; I'd never been to a tattoo place before, and although I lived in DC all of my life, I'd never explored DuPont Circle with such a goal. Fatty's Custom Tattooz seemed a lifetime away. By the time I'd found it, I was getting a little nervous. After crossing the threshold, my stomach began to do little cartwheels, and I was glad I brought two friends along. Now, this part is funny to me; before entering, I tried to compose myself, turning my nervous walk into a comfortable stride, planning to waltz ... read more

Past Linked To Present

Body Modification links us from the past to the present and awakens our vision to the future... Recently I have made some new awesome friends and reconnected effortlessly with a dear friend at Bodystain, a tattoo and piercing shop in Columbus Ohio located on Cleveland avenue and Morse road intersection. A wonderful visit on Friday December the fourth transpired into an empowering piercing experience that had aspects of both planning and spontaneity which was very cool. The weekend that was looming over me was scaring the hell out of me as it was to be the nineteenth anniversary of my ... read more

My very nervous scaffold!!

Around the beginning of summer, I was standing with some friends in the social space of our school, chatting about piercing. I had been really wanting a piercing for a long time now. My parents aren't as bad as most. Well, my dad is pretty strict, but my mum is rather liberal. Unfortunately when it comes to piercings, she has her limits. I had been wanting snakebites for about 3 years, but, in typical parental fashion, both parents objected, giving me the whole 'while you live under my roof' lecture. Looks like I was out of luck until I was ... read more

My near-snug experience

Since I was 16, I've been getting various ear piercings. No one in my family or immediate circle of friends has more than two piercings or one tattoo, so I began to get curious about body mod in high school. Over the last two or so years I have gotten seven different ear piercings, my latest being my right snug. I got my snug done two weeks ago, when I went with a friend to get her lip pierced--a new piercing and tattoo parlor close to campus was running a special and I had heard good things about the place. ... read more

My very swollen and very painful snug piercing

I decided I wanted my snug pierced when I was 15 years old and I couldn't wait to turn 16 to get it done without parent consent. I checked different body piercing places and decided to go for 'Tribal voice' I went in there and I talked to a piercer to see if I could get it done, she said yes and told me she was going to put a 8mm bar in my ear and off I went to the studio. I was so scared to get it done and the pain was horrible, when the plastic tube was ... read more

My Epiq [Unfinished] Stretching Adventure

Perhaps I should provide some background information on myself. I'm thirteen, and I have nine piercings six lobe piercings, an industrial, a navel, and an eyebrow and I'm planning on getting more. For the longest time, I hated stretched ears. What was the point? You couldn't wear regular earrings. It disgusted me. One day, as I was browsing Hot Topic, I saw a woman working there with stretched ears. They usually disgusted me but hers was different. She had adorable black flesh tunnels in them that was studded with rhinestones. It sparkled and glittered and just that moment, I realized ... read more

Do you smell something? my branding experience

i've been pierced. i've stretched. i've been tattooed. i've been cut. next on my list was branding. i've known for a long time that i wanted a brand, but i wasn't sure of the design. several possibilities had been floating around in my head, but none of them seemed right. i narrowed it down to two choices, then realized that one of the first ideas i had come up with was the right one. i would be branded with the rune Uruz. it's a very simple design, just straight lines, and very symbolic. it represents the wild energy present in ... read more

The nose knows!

Well I had my nostril pierced once before, the piercing itself went great...everything after did not. To make a long story very short so we can get to the good stuff I got a huge bulge of hypertrophic scar tissue...nasty business and no amount of soaking, cleaning, dabbing, LITHA did anything to help so bye bye nostril piercing. Fast forward a year and I decided to get my nostril pierced again only this time on the right hand side. I was visiting with my mom close to Christmas and she (as awesome as she is) gave me the cash to ... read more

22-8g Earlobe Stretching

Before I go very far I want to say..Don't do this! Ok now that I got that over with this is my ear lobe stretching experience. I'd like to start by saying that I am 34, I'm also a woman and married heh. I strarted out with a normal sized earring, 22-18g depending on who you ask about that, and ended up with 8g plugs. So I was visiting my mom for Christmas and having some deep relationship problems with someone I left back home. For some reason piercings or new body mods make me feel calm when things are ... read more
