i-Tragus Friday, April 11 was a great day in the history of what is turning out to be Bobby's ear project. Granted, there are only two pieces of jewelry, (industrial with a 14 gauge 1-3/8 inch SS barbell, and my new anti-tragus with a 7/16 inch 14 gauge Niobium CBR) but I've got the itch, and so it seems that I'm just getting started. Anyway, I was looking for pictures for a while before hand of anti-tragus piercings with little luck, and of course, after I finally head down to Perforations and did it, BME is updated that very same ... read more

Nip and Prince Albert Self Pierce

and Prince Albert Self Pierce Nip and Prince Albert Self Pierce After reading the material in BME I've decided I'm not as unusual as I had thought. I'm a nearly 44 year old white male, living in the suburbs with a wife and some kids. Suit by day, Levis at night and on the weekends. I made it through the sixties without getting my ear pierced, didn't even think it was cool! My first desire to put a hole in my body, other than what was already there, happened about five years ago when I was on vacation. My wife ... read more

My Personal Hand Experiences

Hand Experiences My Hand Experiences My Personal Hand Web Experience THE PIERCING PROCESS First the area was marked, and I moved my hand around to try and find the deepest possible comfortable placement without hitting the muscle. Then a small flashlight was used to check for blood vessels, and the area was cleaned. The a clamp was applied and the holes lined up. The piercing was done in 14ga, and didn't hurt that much, but it did sting a great deal. Then the jewellery was slid in - a straight 1/2" 14ga barbell, which probably is easier to deal with ... read more

A Professional's Piercings

rofessional's Piercings A Professional's Piercings As a 31 year old professional analyst, piercing goes against all of the norms that people come to expect of me. Most professionals are viewed as stuffy, three piece suit, white collar kind of guys. While that may be the appearance from the outside, no one really knows what is hiding under the clothes. That is where I derive a lot of pleasure from my piercings. No one knows but me. Under the uniform, I'm really an adventurous man with metal piercing his body. I wrestled with the idea of getting a piercing for quite ... read more

My First Mhendi

First Mhendi My First Mhendi So I am now typing with my left hand delightfully decorated a yummy shade of sienna. It looks so pretty I just keep staring at it... it's almost hypnotic! I had gone to 3 Indian stores Thursday but wanted to go to the one a couple of minutes away from my home... so did that this morning. I found the most gentle woman working there... one who took over an hour showing me around the small store, describing the different foods and such... and then, sharing her knowledge of mhendi with me. Her daughter, who ... read more

Nipple Piercing at Medusa's Circle

cing at Medusa's Circle Nipple Piercing at Medusa's Circle (Please pardon the informality. I was debating whether to be more formal or write like I usually do in newsgroups/email. Felt easier writing as I usually do for this medium :). The described procedure might be out of order - I'm writing it as thoughs occur to me.) Welp, finally went and did it. Got my nipple pierced yesterday (Apr 20). The piercer was Pier Zambrano at Medusa's Circle; 3268 N Clark, Chicago, IL; 312-935-5950. He had done 2 of my earlobe pierces and I highly recommend him. Great bedside manner! ... read more

I'd like to share my views and experience regarding branding. I've been involved in this form of BodyArt for the past three years and have performed over thirty brands totaling over two hundred strikes. Training as a piercer gave me a solid grasp of sterile technique and thousands of piercings taught me how to calm apprehensive clients. A little more research into burn first aid firmed up my aftercare approach. Anybody seriously considering piercing, tattooing, cutting or branding another humans flesh, in the name of art, should be prepared to study and practice. I'd like to thank Raelyn Gallina, Lance ... read more

daith experience at gauntlet NYC

th experience at gauntlet NYC i had wanted a daith piercing for a long time. last summer, i'd stare at pictures of them on bme, liking how they looked. finally, when i was in new york city for spring break last march, i had the opportunity to do so. being from Milwaukee, i only knew of two places to go in NYC: venus modern body arts and gauntlet. someone on isca had recommended venus to me, so i tried there. i was walking around the east village and finally found it. however, for some reason they were closing up in ... read more
