Not What I Expected In A Bridge

So this is the story of my bridge piercing. It starts in January of 2010. I had just gotten my first piercings [nips] and started my journey with the needle. I became infatuated with piercing, soaking up any information I could, and spending LOTS of time on BME. In January I had my nipples done and soon after my vertical philtrum and inversed vertical labret. I knew what the next step was in completing my facial project: The Bridge. Well, after about 2 & 1/2 months, a best friend, Rachel, surprised us all with a visit. She had been gone ... read more

Popped the ink cherry

Saturday the 27th of March, 2010 - Probably one of the happiest days of my life. I've never felt so anxious, nervous, nauseous, happy or excited, ever. To be one hundred per cent honest, I was completely shitting myself. Since I was underage, I had to have my mother with me, for permission. She has 5 tattoos, so I trusted her judgment when it came to the extent of the pain. But, of course, being the strange & cruel person she is, she decided to absolutely freak me out by exaggerating the feeling of getting a tattoo. "The shading felt ... read more

Septum piercing (not actually that painful!)

Well, I have been a huge fan of septum piercings for a few years now, but had read quite a few horror stories on them and how much they 'kill'. I think I finally decided to just go for it after I had both my nipples pierced, as that wasn't as bad as I previously had thought it would be. Each time before I get any piercing done, I spend a while (at least a week) decided if it’s what I really want and the types of jewellry available for the certain piercing. I look in the galleries here on ... read more

Nipple

When I was eight years old, I had one wish for my birthday, It was to pierce my earlobes. And my wish was granted and on the day of my birthday my mother and my brother took me too a jewelry shop and the old lady there pierced me with a piercing gun. It wasn´t until years later that I realised what a stupid move that was. My lobes was too thick for the short piercinggun jewelry and the infection was a fact. During the years I have also pierced a second hole in my left ear (with a piercinggun) ... read more

Tongue piercing - Still learning to love it!

So this is the story of me choosing to get my tongue pierced...I'm not really sure what made me decide to get it done as it didn't really feature in my original piercing plans! At that point i already had my nose, 2 sets of lobe studs and my lip pierced twice with further plans for many more but one day i just decided with the wide range of jewellry available that i wanted a tongue piercing. I've now come to realise that i can't get rid of this piercing because i've spent stupid amounts of money on jewellry for ... read more

Nipple Sisters

Before getting my nipples pierced I had sort of figured I was done getting piercings for some time. I already have 5/8" lobes, an industrial, a second lobe piercing, a surface piercing on my nape, venoms, my belly button, and my septum pierces. I have considered getting more cartilage piercings, but my industrial has been so fussy that I figure I don't want to deal with another one of those. In fact, I thought I was done for a while before I got my belly button pierced (something I never thought I would do for some reason), but obviously that ... read more

My first cartilage

Ever since I got my second holes in my ears, I had really wanted my cartilage done too. As cliched as this sounds, piercings (as I'm sure tattoos) are really addictive. The only thing stopping me from going ballistic with piercings is getting a professional job out of college :-( (it really sucks that people are still so freaking judgmental today). I'm usually very good with needles, but I had heard stories where people said it was painful and that some people's ears had swelled up after infections and it made me nervous. I researched all the possible things that ... read more

My Daith Piercing

I’ve had 2 sets of lobe piercings since I was 5 years old and decided in late 2009 to start stretching my first set of piercings. Due to my personal, preferred aesthetics, I decided to remove my second lobe piercings. As I have my right tragus pierced, I felt like I wanted to balance out my ear piercings by getting another one in my left ear. After looking online and just observing other people’s piercings while out and about, I settled on a daith. I loved the look of it and the fact that it’s recessed down in your ear. ... read more

The Beginnings/My Short Story

I’ve been wanting to be a piercer since I was in middle-school. I guess I've always had a fascination with the human body. I also had a deep fascination boarder-line obsession with the different ways the human body can be modified for the sake of beauty, sacrifice, ritual, religion, etc. I also found medical oddities, and freak-show literature, and culture very interesting. From virtually living in the Mutter Museum to studying the art of Joel-Peter Witken, HR Geiger, and others, I found my niche in what I am passionate about and what interests me the most. I knew I wanted to be a piercer ... read more

My Septum

I'd wanted my septum pierced for four years, but had never gotten the courage to get it done. This was, in part, due to thinking it wouldn't suit me, but also not having the confidence to ignore that doubt and do it anyway. Recently I've had a steady boost in confidence due to seeing a counsellor and getting my life in order - and I decided what better way to celebrate my new found confidence and comfort in myself than by getting a piercing I'd wanted for ages? I visited a shop near my uni that several of my friends ... read more
