I decided on an impulse to get my left nipple pierced on December 10, 2001, after a particularly brutal final exam in college. I went to Ocean Mystique on Atlantic Avenue in Virginia Beach. My piercer, Dave, prepared the room and called me back within 5 minutes after I signed the paperwork. The room was extremely clean, and Dave was very professional. He had me lie on the table while he sterilized and marked my nipple. He took a single use needle out of its sterile wrapping, and asked me if I wanted him to go slow or (stab!) run ...

Just like every other piercing that I have this was a spur of the moment piercing, minimal thought put into it, the usual for me. This is probably why I only have subtle, easily hidden piercings and no tattoos. I really have too many other things that I need to think about, getting a discreet piercing is fun and requires minimal thought, or at least that's how I like to think about it. Unlike other piercings which were basically minutes or hours after the thought first popped into my head there was actually a delay of a few days between ...

So a couple days ago I decided to head into Planet Ink in Ottawa for a couple new piercings. They have a 2 for $85 deal which I obviously had to take advantage of. I think on Wednesdays it's 2 for $65 but I'm not from Ottawa and I was only going to be there for a few days so I just took what I could get. I went in on a Sunday at like 11 am, and to my surprise the piercer was in and available. In my hometown we have one tattoo parlor and the piercer is only ...

I live in a small town/community. Odd looks, strange remarks, and glaringly obvious questions are part of my daily life. Having said that, I have 21 piercings currently, at the age of 17, and have collected a small, but golden trove of invaluable inquiries thrown my way. Without further ado: Stupid Questions and Their Answers. Did that hurt!? Nooooooo. Of COURSE it didn't! It's JUST a needle that was jabbed through my flesh, replaced by a metal ring to keep the wound open until it healed around it! What part of that sounds painful to you? Duh! Every ...

Yet again I found myself getting a piercing I never dreamed I would get. Almost always when I had seen a septum piercing it was on someone with large jewelry and frankly didn’t look appealing to me at all. Over time I started seeing discreet septum piercings with retainers and other small jewelry. Suddenly septum piercings didn’t look so bad. My story begins when I was out of town for a few weeks on business. I found myself walking around a city in Australia with a few hours to spare. There were many things I could have done but I ...

As usual, this piercing was spur of the moment, barely thought out. I guess thats just the way I am when it comes to piercings. I actually don't like the look of nipple piercings but wanted to see how it would feel and also how it would alter sensations when touched by someone else. Still, that was idle curiosity and not something I planned to act on. I was at work having a horrific day and was due to be stuck in 6 hours of meetings later in the day. I honestly didn't think I could stand the day without ...

Being very fair skinned, meaning it is impossible for me to get a tan. Ever. I have always had a healthy respect for the sun. It was this respect that made me very curious about solar branding. A tecnique of branding in which the suns rays are concentrated through a crystal sphere into a stenciled image on the skin. I first heard about this method a few years ago from Andrew S. of Las vegas. It was during his sun gazing fast that he had the idea of this sterile form of branding. After testing the procedure on himself and getting ...

I figured I would write about this experience while it is still fresh in my mind. I've had my full back corset piercing for two days now and it has been quite the new experience for me. First of all, I had no intention of getting something like this done because I know that it is not a permanent piercing but, the shop my piercer happens to work at was having a $120 all you can get pierced sale (which I don't really support but I'll talk about that some other time). Anyways, so I figured why not go all ...

If you don't like DIY stories please read no further. As with most DIY stories I'll start with saying don't do this, it's not safe and there are serious risks. That being said you are reading this because your contemplating a DIY project. All I can say is make sure you are prepared, start with googling steril protocol, order or purchase steril supplies and try to make your project as safe as possible. On with the story. I'm old enough to handle myself and my body, I'm in my mid thirties, aware of steril protocol due to my ...

This is my first experience with piercing that I did not absolutely love after it was done. So with that being the case understand it is now removed but seeing how there are not many new stories of this piercing I figured I would share. So I first saw the vertical labret about six months ago, but being that I am older then most I've seen with this piercing and that I have only had one facial piercing previously the decision was a major one for me. I was entranced by how the piercing looked, I love how it made ...
