I think I might be getting sick.
"Honey... you better hurry up!!"
My girl friend came over to my house not too long ago and we were hanging out in my basement and she was talking to me about some random seemingly unimportant small talk and then our futures came up. She asked me what i wanted to do with my life, which was strange of her to ask because she knew i wanted to become a piercing artist. So i told her that and said she already knew so what was she getting at?? She said do you wanna practice?? i was puzzled.
She said yeah right now!! I was all like, well, what do you want?? She wanted me to do eight piercings up her left cartilage. I was like yeah sure. Lets do it! Excited I went and grabbed some gloves, my 14 gauge needles and captive hoops, my forceps and cork. I told her to lay down on my pool table. I knew that she took pain really well so i wasn't that concerned. I told her exactly what I was doing every step of the way. I marked her ear and asked her if it looked good holding up a mirror for her to see it. She was all like, Its good its good just do it!! She was very excited.
Time for the piercing! I had her tip her head and hold her hair back and brace herself cause it might hurt. I told her I would start on top where it would hurt the most so she would have it easier later. I put my cork in place and positioned my needle. I told her to inhale really deep and then let it out fast. She did and on the exhale I quickly stabbed through her cartilage on the very top. She told me it hurt a lot but not to stop. Pain is for a minute, modifications last till death. She told me quoting John Gomes.
So I readied myself for number two. Same thing, got through and she told me not to stop. She could handle more. Every time she was less and less sure that she could but she hung in there. Around number 5 she turned over and said, "I think I might be getting sick." I was like, "Do you want me to stop??" And I remember very clearly the next thing she said... "Keep going. But Honey... you better hurry up!!
I was freaking out now. I didn't know whether I should keep going or stop. I needed to decide and clearly I knew what she wanted and I had to choose fast. I decided to go through with it. I told her that the bottom ones would be a lot easier. not so much pain. She stopped me before I could go on. She said, "Wait... give me that!" And pointed over to a small teddy bear. So i handed it to her. I was like, "What the hell are you gonna do with that??" She proceeded to shove it in her mouth and bite down hard and gave me a thumbs up. I knew it was time to move on.
I positioned my forceps and cork on the small dot and told my baby to take a deep breath in and then let it out fast and she did along with the step of biting down on my teddy bear's head so hard I'm surprised that it didn't break. The needle went through and i slid the ring into place. The next one I lined up and now, realizing that this was making my girlfriend very insecure in the health department, I did my best to hurry it up a little. So I finished the last two as fast as I could and things were alright. She did feel nauseous the whole night after that so I drove her home a little early so she could go to bed early.
She woke up to a surprise. Her ear was basically covered in dry blood. This was not very pleasant for her. She called me up. She was like, "Ben, this isn't good!!! My ear is all bloody!" I told her it was normal and to to clean it as best she could because of course it would hurt to touch. She took a shower and did her best to not bump it at all. She fought through the experience as hard as anyone can. All we have is our best and she gave it all that night. I came over a little later and cleaned her really well and everything is doing fine. Her ear is healing just fine and even after nearly getting sick from all that trauma, she cant wait for me to pierce her again. She really wants her industrial done which should be much easier than this one. Two holes instead of EIGHT!!!
