Nipple Piercing in Boston

Date: Sat, 9 Nov 1996 14:38:51 -0500 (EST)

The timing had finally worked out. I was going into Boston to get my nipples pierced. I was nervous, for two reasons: 1. I was running late and 2. I hadn't yet eaten that day (because I was running late). I arrived about fifteen minutes into my appointment...shaking like a leaf. As I was filling out my release forms, the woman behind the counter noticed that I was having problems writing straight. She asked me if I was okay. I explained that I was nervous, she smiled and said that was normal. I then explained that I hadn't eaten all day, at which point she asked for a five dollar bill and proceeded to send me downstairs to get set up.

I went down the stairs and met the piercer that was finally going to give me these holes I had wanted for so long. I had read a great deal about her, so it was wonderful to finally meet her in the flesh. As we were discussing jewelry style and size, and she was marking my nipples, the woman from behind the counter returned with a bottle of cranberry juice and some pretzels. She saved my life. As the piercer made her final preparations and I finished off my snack, we got down to business.

I was having 14 gauge stainless steel circular barbells installed. I was all clamped and ready, still nervous, and trying not to look. The woman from behind the counter was holding my hand, she was quite the calming force and I appreciated every second she was there. Then the pierce. The piercer used a 12 gauge needle. It didn't hurt as much as I had thought it would. I glanced down while the needle was still in and watched her push the jewelry through. Although having the needle through my nipple didn't hurt, there was a sense of fullness that wasn't entirely pleasant. Once the jewelry was in, being a gauge smaller, there was this wonderful sense of relief. She then procedded on to the next nipple. I was still nervous, the first one was a breeze, but I always have heard the second one hurts more. I am clamped and ready, and she pierces me again.

Anyone that tells you the second one hurts more is telling you the absolute truth. But even though it hurt more, it still was far from unbearable. She installed the second ring, again the sense of relief as the jewelry slid in, and screwed on the balls. She placed a malachite ball in between the steel balls on each ring. I turned to the mirror on my right, and saw for the first time my new holes, and was absolutely delighted. She bandaged me up, discussed aftercare with me, and offered information on bras and new nipple piercings. I paid her and thanked her, AND the woman from behind the counter, and went on my way with this huge smile plastered on my face.

This was the first piercing I had ever gotten with out a friend there for moral support. Almost anything that could have gone wrong, on my way to my appointment, did. The moment I walked into the piercing shop, everything felt right. It was great, and I would do it again in a heart beat (but I would probably eat breakfast this time).
