My lovely venoms

I had this amazing idea of getting my tongue pierced, but I had thought about it for the longest time. Finally I decided I was going to go through the pain of getting venoms, despite how much my mom said one hurt. At this point I had already had 15 piercings and I thought I would live. I had worked at a piercing shop for about 2 months now and after seeing no one come in and get it done, I though well hell with it, I'll be the first. Jessica (the piercer, and my coworker) agreed to do it but I told her I only wanted to do one at a time. She gladly agreed and we set out a date.
Two days later I went in to get my left side done, I was so scared and hadn't eaten anything, with my mom in hand; Jessica marked, checked for veins, got everything ready and put the clamp on. I had no idea what to expect, really. So she counted to three and told me to take a deep breath in and out. One, two, three, in, out and OH MY GOD. It was the worst pain with piercing I had been through, I knew all of the nerves were on the sides of the tongue, but I had no idea it would be that bad. I'm not trying to scare you, but really, it was bad. It most likely didn't help I didn't eat and for the first piercing ever I felt like I was going to pass out. Jessica got me to lie down and keep breathing while she got me something to drink. I walked out of there with a tongue swollen already and immediately went to get a slurpee. My tongue swelled to the length of the bar in no time.
My tongue was doing fine so I decided to book the next one about a week later, not knowing it would be worse, I walked in with confidence knowing I did it once, I can do it again. Of course, she remarked me, rechecked for veins and in no time I was in worse pain than the first time, it actually made me cry. Because my first one wasn't fully healed, the pressure on it made it hurt even more. And yet again I was off to get a slurpee and taking Advil like crazy.
They were both healing fine when I noticed that my most recent one (the right) had started to migrate to the tip and side of my tongue, but I wasn't about to take them out after having them heal and go through all that pain. So I waited it out, but I soon realized it was getting to close, it had migrated almost a centimeter. It was actually close to coming out of the bottom, yet the top hadn't even moved, so I took it out. I wanted to get it redone so bad, I felt so lopsided without it, but I had to wait two weeks.
Two weeks had passed and I was ready to go in to get it redone, despite the scar tissue. She marked the top, and bottom to make sure it was going to stay this time and got me ready. As soon as she pierced me I screamed. Going through scar tissue is NOT fun, especially in the tongue. I instantly started crying and her and me ended up laughing because it always seems I pick the worst piercings pain wise (cheeks, Madison, medusa, etc). This one swelled almost worse than the first time I got it pierced and I had to go through double the healing time and it is STILL healing despite that. They were a little uneven but I wasn't too worried about that knowing it would change so happily I walked out with a story to tell.
My piercings have seemed to even out though my right one is still not completely healed, I am very happy with the way everything is coming together in the end.
It has been about four weeks of constant cleaning and Advil and my right one is starting to heal up very nicely I'd say, the scar tissue is making it a little harder but it will get there. I am so happy with my venoms and I would never change what I did, I would do it again any day, I would honestly say it is worth all of the swelling and pain. People seem to be so amazed too by them now that I live in a small town. It was a great experience and I am glad I could share it with everyone. Thank you Jessica for being my piercer and great friend, I would defiantly recommend her to anyone in the Moose Jaw or Regina area, very clean and works very precise about getting it right.
