Nervous for NO REASON!
So, ever since I was 12 I've wanted my tongue pierced. Mom never wanted me to get it done, but once I turned 18 I made it VERY clear I would get one whether she liked it or not. She was totally convinced that if she didn't let me, I'd come home with tons of piercings just to spite her. She odviously doesn't know me veryyy well lol. After arguing for a few days, she caved in and took me. I was sooo excited I couldn't sleep. But finally the next day arrived and I got dressed to meet mom, once she got off work.
I pulled up in my car, mom pulled up in her's and we walked in. The shop was REALLY clean and organized. Everyone was very friendly. Rawn took my ID and got my information. It was only $40 for it. I was excited but so scared. So I filled everything out and he told me to sit down and relax for a few minutes. I was shaking so bad, scared of the pain but he reassured me that everything would be fine and that the tongue piercing is one of the least painful piercing of all.
He called me to the back and I sat in the big black chair. He put a bib on me and told me to rinse my mouth with the mouthwash (which seemed like it took FOREVER). After I spit it out, I sat back down and he went over the procedure with me. I was still pretty nervous, but couldn't get over the fact that I was ACTUALLY doing it!
He made jokes, because he could tell I was nervous. He had me laughing SO HARD! He marked my tongue and told me to check it out in the mirror. After I told him it look great, he proceeded to put the clamp on. That was the worse part of the whole thing, honestly. I'm a wimp when it comes to pain.. but you don't even feel the needle. People say you do, but honesly.. you don't. The clamps are what freak you out.
He tightened the clamps and told me to take a deep breath. By the time I let it all the way out, the jewerly was in and he screwed the bottom ball on. I was shocked of how quick and easy it was. I put my tongue back in my mouth, it felt so weird. I could barely talk because I didn't want to strain it. I rinsed my mouth out again, and he went over the aftercare with me. There was no blood, and it felt SO WEIRD, but I loved it. He was really professionally about everything and knew exactly how to calm me down.
Honestly, If you live in Pasco/Pinellas county in Florida - Cherry BOMB is the place to go! I didn't feel any pain what so ever, and I love my new piercing! It's been 5 hours since I got it done, and it's barely swollen. I've been eating jello and ice pops. Just make sure to take some Advil or something like it if it starts to hurt a little.
Everyone was friendly, eastgoing and made the enviorment soooo nice. I will most deff go back to Cherry BOMB for any other piercing. I love them, especially Rawn lol. They are as good as it gets. Atomic tattoos don't even come close to how great Cherry BOMB was! Their tattoo artists do AMAZING WORK and the Piercers are just amazing themselves.
Just be sure to drink ALOT of ice water, and not any soda. The more soda you drink, the more you have to rinse your mouth with the mouthwash. You don't have to when you drink water. The cold helps the swelling [if you have any] and feels great. Take ibuprofen or advil for pain. And make sure your rinse for 30-60 seconds after eating or smoking. I would recommend this piercing for anyone! It hurt less than getting my ear lobes done. I can't wait to change it and put different bars in. Just make sure you follow the directions they give you and you'll be FINE! No strawberries, tortilla chips, or anything that can get caught in the hole. It's pretty painful and not worth it.
I've been living on mashed bananas, ice pops, jello, chocolate pudding, ramen noodles and anything that isn't too difficult to eat. You won't notice how much you actually use your tongue when eating, untill you have a tongue ring. I love love love it. Get it done, it's sooo worth it! So stop worrying about pain, go for it.
