For my 16th birthday I wanted to get a modification. I originally wanted to do a suspension, but my mother would not allow that. Instead I had to beg her to allow me to get a piercing. Since I had had multiple piercings before, none of which were done professionally, I know she would appreciate me asking for a professional to do it.

I finally talked her into letting me get my tongue pierced, although I would have preferred my lebret, which looking at it now would have been a better way to go. My step father put up much opposition since his views on the tongue piercing was strictly for sexual pleasure.

So on October 28th, the day after my birthday, my mother took me to the tattoo parlor. After filling out all the necessary paper work I started to get nervous, since I had never gone through any of this legal stuff before just to get a hole in my body. Once we went to the back and started talking to the piercer I relaxed. He seemed very nice and comfortable with this procedure. So he went over the cleaning and aftercare procedures with me, while my mother sat in the lobby waiting. We sat there and talked about it and my other piercings for a while then when my mother came in he got down to work.

First he gave me a cup of Listerine to rinse out my mouth with, then, about a minute later, he had me sit down so he could look at my tongue. Since my thingy under my tongue (I know the name, but I can't think of it at the moment) goes so far up my tongue, he had to pierce it more so at an angle then most.

He put on the clamp, which was too tight in my eyes, since after he was done my tongue swelled and bruised VERY badly. Anyway, he clamped my tongue and inserted the needle into the top of the bubbled section of my tongue clasped in the clamp's ring. This hurt fairly bad, and he did it so slow that I could feel the needle slice through each layer of muscle. This sound in my head made me feel sick.

While he put the 14 gauge barbell into the opening of the needle and pulled it through my eyes started watering. Then, once I thought it couldn't hurt anymore than it already had, he screwed on the top ball. It felt like he was twisting the muscle inside my tongue with such pressure that it felt as if the fibers were being ripped out.

He gave me another cup of Listerine and I rinsed for another minute. After I spit it out I tasted blood. Being I had seen multiple tongue piercings before, and none of them had bled, I was kind of concerned. I looked into the full length mirror on the other side of the room and my mouth was full of blood. I asked him about it and he gave me an answer about how it was normal and I shouldn't be worried.

My mother paid him and we were off to the Walgreen's on the corner across from the shop. Inside we bought oral glyoxide and Listerine, since those were the items he told me to use for after care. I went home and used them.

This was my routine for the next week, until the next Friday when the hole began to bleed profusely. I was at school in my acting class giving a performance and my mouth filled with blood. My teacher, thinking the worst, sent me to the nurse, who had never seen this before since I was in a small town with conservative residence, sent me home.

That weekend was a Halloween party that I ended up winning the costume party best costume contest, since I was dressed up as a vampire, which wasn't hard to do with my already vampiristic features, and the vast quantities of blood spewing from the inside of my mouth. Which happened to be quite profitable, for the prize was $200.00.

That day my tongue had started bleeding at about noon or so, and it was still bleeding by 3:00 am. With the bleeding, I had become quite pale and dizzy. With the loss of so much blood I had gotten a rush such as one when you get high for the first time. Not that I didn't like the feeling, it was more so that I didn't like the fact that I couldn't walk a straight line, or that everything kept turning black.

So I had my boyfriend take it out when it got to be about 3:30am. I would have done it myself, but I hadn't the strength to walk by myself, let alone unscrew a new tongue piercing. After the piercing was removed the hole spurted blood for a few minutes, and then stopped. It seemed weird not having my mouth full with the warm copper taste, but I was glad.

After that experience, I quit modifications for a while. But now I'm back into the swing of things. Since that I have gotten my lebret pierced and my tongue horizontally. I am also planning on doing a suspension for my 19th birthday. I figured that would give me the time to mentally prepare myself.
