Thats all it felt like?
I have always wanted to get my bellybutton pierced. Ever since I knew that navel piercings existed I always wanted one, and I always thought that they looked pretty. At first I wanted the bottom but I decided to get the top instead and I'm happy with my decision. Maybe one day ill even have both!
In excitement to do it, I wasn't allowed until I was sixteen by my mother I read all about navel piercing experiences on BMEZINE to try and get the overall opinion about how getting the piercing was. Did it hurt a lot? Was the cleaning really bad? Do they get infected easily? But i decided that the piercing will turn out well if you care for it well, and I really wanted to get it done as soon as possibly.
The first time I attempted to get it pierced an appointment I had earlier in the day ran later then expected and I didn't get the time to get it pierced which was really lame because it was basically like i was putting it off for the 2 people who came with me to get it pierced. I planned to get it this summer because my mom didn't want me to get it and i told her that once i was sixteen it wasn't really her decision anymore and that i was going to get it anyways.
I went downtown to Adrenaline which everyone told me had an amazing reputation with my two friends and told them that I wanted to get my bellybutton pierced, I didn't have ID but I am sixteen which is legal because my best friend knew the guy who worked there and vouched for me, so as a tip ALWAYS being ID/parental consent!
They sat me down and I was kind of nervous because this was my first piercing but my friend held my hand and told me it would be okay. I was still kinda nervous but happy that i was finally getting the piercing i had wanted for so long.
They finally called me in and I met my piercer a really nice guy named Matt who was really calming and playing good music so I felt comfortable when i walked into the room. He had a lot of tattoos and his bridge pierced and all of his mods looked really good so I was confident about him piercing me and my heart didn't start to race any faster even though I was a bit nervous
First he cleaned my navel surface really well and he got a fresh needle (make sure your piercer uses a fresh needle!. He marked my bellybutton and asked me if I liked the placement of it and I did, it was perfectly straight. He told me to lie down and get comfortable and I did while my best friend held my hand. I remembered to breathe normally and stay and stay calm because that would make it hurt less and then put the clamps on which only hurt a little bit and was definitely the most painful (if you could call it that) part of the piercing experience. I was getting a barbell jewelery so he then pushed the needle through one side of the piercing and said "One side through" and then pushed it through the other side and said "Other sides done".
It actually didn't hurt at all. I basically felt no pain just a rush, I kind of liked it and want to get another piercing!!! I think my parents might kill me though. It was totally not as big a deal as i expected. He then told me how to clean it and it has been really easy, Wash it with antibacterial soap (which Adrenaline gave me My piercing feels really good and it doesn't catch on things as much as I had already read about on the web. It was hard to bend over and reach stuff on the floor the first day I got it pierced but its not a big deal once you get used to the sensation of having metal in your navel. It doesn't make doing things harder and its easy to hide(if you need to but then you probably shouldn't be getting piercings anyway), and I honestly just think that its a really pretty piercing, it has easy maintenance for healing and it is so worth the tiny bit of pain you have to go through. I'm so happy with the way it looks and the jewelery I picked. a silver ball top with a white diamond jewel in the bottom. It looks really good and I'm really happy. Thanks Matt and Liam and the crew at Adrenaline!
