Painful? I think not!

I remember when I was like 14 I first wanted a piercing of some sort.
My mom always said no and it looked horrible walking around with jewlry in the body. I wasn't going to give up though. I knew that if I begged her long enough she would eventually let me get one done.
I was 15 and I was in the car with my mother we were on our way to
the hospital because I had to go to pre-op. because i was getting my tonsiles out the next day. My mom was talking about my step-sister's new piercing. She now has 10. She had gotten another piercing in her belly button. I told my mom that she should let me get my belly button pierced. She was hesitating to say yes. I told her that if she didn't let me get it done I would tell one of my friends that are 18 to take me to get my eyebrow done (which everyone knows that is very hard to make that happen). She finally gave in and said I could get it done if I was nice to her during my surgery.
After my surgery about a week after I healed up and everything I
asked her about it again just to tell her I didn't forget our agreement. My mom didn't forget but she was hoping I did. She told me to call around to different places and find a nice and sterile place. I looked through the phone book and talked to a few of my friends who had piercings and they recommended Modern Man Modifications in Brooklyn Park,Maryland. I called Modern Man and and talked with one of the people who worked there and asked them an estimate on how much it would be and what days and times they were open. I let my mom know it was $50 and I told her the days and she picked a Tuesday.
I came home from school that day, April 27th, and was really excited.
I had to wait for my mom to come home from work to take me to get it done. We went to pick up my friend, Samantha when she came home and then we were on our way. On our way to Modern Man my mom was asking me if I was nervous. I wasn't at all just excited and happy that I was finally getting it done.
We got there and I walked in. The place was awesome. All kinds of
people were in there waiting for their tattoos or piercings or whatever and my mom and I walked up to the cash register and told the guy there what I wanted done and he handed us a form to fill out so we couldn't sue or anything. My mom filled out the form and got out her proof that she was my mother and all while I picked out the ring I wanted for my belly. I picked out some hoop thing with this metallic ball on it. It was a 16 gage. My mom waited out in the waiting area and the guy who was going to pierce me, Dean, led me and my friend back to this room. The walls were covered in pictures of piercings in all kinds of places if you know what I mean. There was this black leather thing that Dean made me sit on. Dean cleaned my belly button with this brown stuff and cleaned the needle and all and told me to pull up my shirt so he could see my belly button. I sat on the leather thing and did what he told me and looked at my friend. He marked the place where I wanted the hole and then put this clamp thing on it so he could get a hole of the skin thentold me I would feel a pinch and I did. Trust me it didn't hurt as bad as it did when I got my I.V. during my surgery. I looked down and there was this long needle in my belly and then I kinda shivered and looked away. Then he put in the hoop and then screwed on the ball and I looked down and it looked really good. Dean told me my belly button was small but perfect for a belly ring. Then he gave me these packets of Bacitracin Ointment and told me how to clean it. You can use either Bacitracin Ointment, Betadine or Neosporin. They all work the same.
I left and about an hour later it started to sting a little. It
healed after about 2 weeks or so. i have had it done for 2 1/2 months now and I got this mosquito bite like right between the holes and it looks really nasty. I am waiting for that to heal so I can go get a curved barbell or something. You have to make sure to clean it like they tell you because the belly button gets infected REALLY easily. It didn't hurt at all to me but some people have told me it hurt. I guess people's pain tolorance levels are different. It looks really good now and its the best thing I have done! Sometimes it can be a pain and sometimes I love it. But I would recommend the belly button because many guys tell me its the sexiest piercing a girl can have!
