My long awaited navel piercing

ef = "/cgi-bin/vote/votec.cgi?/pierce/07-navel/990415/lanavel.html"> My long awaited navel piercing

So it all started when I was staying with my sister for a couple of weeks. And we thought up the idea of getting our navels pierced at the end of my stay. Needless to say I was ecstatic and all I could think about all summer was my navel. And then my sister backed out; mainly because my parents wouldn't allow for me to do that to myself. At the time I was 16 so it was 2 more years of waiting.

But then miraculously at the age of 17 I found somebody who was willing to pierce me before turning 18, though it did take a while for him to think about it. But when he finally gave me the OK, I was in search for jewelry. He whipped out the caliper and told me that if I wanted a ring he had some in stock, but I would have to order a 3/8 inch barbell if that's what I wanted. Well I had once seen a girl with a barbell with one of the balls jeweled. So I checked in town but the piercing shops didn't have those, couldn't order them and hadn't even seen them. Thus I hopped online and ended up finding exactly what I wanted. Hurrying to my friend's house to order it using her credit card I then awaited its arrival anxiously for days to come. It finally ended up arriving November 12th and thus the date of the piercing was set to be the next day.

Dad had to take mom to the airport, which would keep him out of the house for about 3 hours, so here was my chance. I jumped in the car and drove to my friend's house (the guy who was gonna pierce me) and after a little chit-chat we were ready. Everything was properly sterilized and the needle and jewelry were placed in alcohol up to the point that they were used, and gloves were used during the entire process. Ok, stand back up to mark the entrance and exit points and lay back down. The clamps he used were the type that lock up really tight, but he used rubber bands to tighten them. They were slightly uncomfortable, but hey, nobody was asking me to keep them on my navel. So here comes the needle; yes there was a slight pinch, but nothing I couldn't handle. Then a slight problem; the bottom ball was too big so it couldn't fit through the clamps; thus the clamps had to be taken off and the jewelry was put through by hand without the help of the needle. Somewhat annoying but not too bad, and it was only at this point that maybe a drop or two of blood came out, other than that there was nothing. It felt kind of weird sitting up; I was afraid it would hurt if I moved a certain way I guess, but I got home fine.

That night I washed it out with antibacterial soap and continued to do this twice every day and also do a sea salt solution soak every day (this is great to help soak off the "crusties" and also helps speed up the healing process).

It's been 5 months now and I'm still extremely happy with my piercing; I love it more and more every day. About two months ago is when the initial healing time was over for me; no redness or any lymph (the crusty stuff) apparent. The only "bad" thing about this piercing is that it's gotten me hooked and I'm wanting more. Right now I have an appointment set for tomorrow to get my tongue pierced (will send story on that) and a vertical hood, inner labia and possibly nipples are in the planning.

On a last note I'm going to give some words of advice; first off; remember "Pain is temporary, pride is forever" Also, remember that a navel piercing takes quite a while to heal so if you do go through the trouble to get one, make sure you take good care of it and you'll cherish it forever.
