My triple labret piercing experience.
little over a year ago, I decided to go in and get my very
first labret piercing. It turned out great and I'm very happy
with it. Later on last year I wanted more. So I came to the
conclusion that I would get 3 more labret studs lined up to the
right of my original one.
I set off on a Sunday night, with hopes of going to the same
place I had gone the first time. I even called ahead and made an
appointment. As soon as I arrived they told me they didn't
remember the phone call and that the pierceologist wasn't there.
Since they seemed a bit disorientated (high, or something) I left
and decided to go to a different place -- one where I had my
eyebrow piercings done at.
I arrived there and they were more than happy to do it, so the
piercer took me to the back room and got ready. I wasn't at all
nervous, seeing how this was my 5th time to get some form of bod
mod done, and pain isn't one of my biggest fears(now bugs and
spiders are a whole different story). He told me that for these
piercings he would have to put in bead rings, instead of
barbells, which I wanted. I don't remember his reason, though.
I was more than happy to cooperate anyway.
Just then, he called his wife in to do my piercings instead.
Fine, no problem. She comes in and I take one look at her chest,
which adorned a surface neck pierce (not sure of the technical
term). That wouldn't have bothered me normally, but it crusty.
And oozing. It looked awful and infected. But before I could
say anything she had my lip in a clamp. "Oh well," I thought,
"hopefully she knows what she's doing."
Unfortunately she didn't. She had pushed the needle through my
lip right next to my original labret. And let me tell you, that
was bad enough. It hurt like hell. As she proceeded to thread
the bead ring through my freshly pierced hole, she seemed to
struggle. She couldn't get the ring in. So, she took the needle
out of my lip and then pushed it back through. I felt like I was
going to faint. She tried again to put the ring through, and
failed.
Right about then she hollered for her husband and he came back in and had to finish threading the ring through. He knew what he was doing. And he successfully finished up the other two. I paid, looked at my swollen lip in the mirror, and was on my way home. The healing process went very well, and I was eager to change my rings to labret studs -- the rings were way too awkward and made me talk with a lisp.
After the initial healing period, I changed all the rings to
studs, and let me tell you, I LOVED the way it looked. But I
made the grave mistake of getting a job at a shitty retail store
which forced me to take all the piercings out. They closed...
all except for the one in the center. : ( I'm thinking of
getting it done again -- but not at the same place! And, I quit
working at that store, but, I'm going to find a place that
doesn't care about my piercings.
For my next piercing experience though, I think I'm going to get
paired triple surface piercings on my wrists.
If I do, I'll be sure to send a picture of them to BME. : )
