My eyeraising eyebrow piercing

I have always had a thing for piercings and tattoos. As soon as I turned 18, I started adding more and more piercings to my ears, but that was about as far as I got. When I was 19 and with my best friend in the other side of the state I live in, Michigan, we went to go see a concert at Saginaw Valley State University. We were super pumped up after the show and looking to go do something crazy. We couldn't get into the bar, so opted to go to the tattoo parlor. My friend got a tattoo done and I was going to get one also, but opted for an eyebrow piercing instead. I have always loved the way they looked. I have 15 piercings in my ears, so I didn't think it would be too bad, right?

So we went to the studio, which was really clean and the guys were all really friendly. I remember looking at the different jewelry I could get and being really excited about getting this done. I went with a hoop on the right side. I was filling out the paperwork thinking I was insane to do this. I was raised in a pretty churchy family, and I knew my parents were going to flip out. I think that is the reason I wanted to do it so bad. My friend went into the room with me and we made small talk while we waited. I was a little nervous, but not too bad. The piercer, Dave was very nice and informative. He explained everything that would happen and was really nice when I asked him a ton of stupid questions. He marked the spots and I said the looked good. He clamped my eye which didn't really hurt, just felt a bit uncomfortable.

Then was the part I was worried about. The needle came out. It was a huge long needle. Mind you, I don't like needles at all. He asked if I was ready, and well, it was now or never! He put the top through, and it didn't hurt that bad at all. Just heard/felt a little pop and then through the bottom. The only thing that hurt was that he couldn't get the ring to go through and left the needle hanging my face while he went and got more towels. So that was a little freaky. I was bleeding a lot, but it didn't hurt too bad. He then says "I've never seen anyone bleed so much!" Oh yeah, that really makes me feel better! It was his fault I was bleeding in the first place! He finally got it through after what seemed like forever. Then it took him awhile to get the ball into the hoop, which was making things a bit uncomfortable. I remember reaching up and feeling the hoop under my skin. That was a weird feeling, but it was awesome at the same time. Dave gave me a lot of aftercare instructions and was very cool about everything. The piercing was $35, and I gave him $50. I was just happy he was so cool about everything, although I am sure there are people who handled it a lot worse than I did. I did pretty good though. I just don't like the sight of blood and I was bleeding badly.

I stood up and went to look in the mirror and felt pretty light headed. I think I just had such an adrenaline rush and got all worked up. I went into the lobby and got something to drink and sat down. My friend then had her tattoo done, but I spent most of the time looking at myself in the mirror admiring how hot the piercing looked. It looked fantastic and I was glad I did it. He gave me a lot of aftercare instructions.

Sleeping was NOT fun for awhile, nor was brushing my hair. I have had my fair share of catching it on things, but I absolutely love it. I have had a couple of bad infections that were swollen up a bit and didn't feel too good at all. I do know a lot of people that have gotten infections just from not properly taking care of it, but I'm not sure what mine was from. It was nasty at times though. So bad I couldn't move the hoop at all. But it's still worth it. I would highly recommend getting it done, the pain wasn't bad and it looks great! I am going in a couple days to get another tattoo done and a rook piercing. One of these days I plan on having a lip piercing done and possibly tongue. It's true what people say, you do become hooked to getting more piercings and tattoos!
