The story of my 1st piercing

I've always wanted to get my tongue pierced...ever since I was 13-14... I've always liked piercings but I was too young to be "legally pierced" and my parents would have never let me do something like that so I waited till I was legal and I'm very happy I did because I had the time to think about what I was going to do.

I decided to get my first piercing on my birthday, April 17th, which happened to be a Saturday. I still wanted the tongue piercing but I also wanted to party (it was my birthday!!!) and with a tongue piercing you can't eat, drink, smoke and since I had to go out with my friends that night, I decided to get an eyebrow piercing.

I was really scared because it was my first piercing ever (I don't even have an earring) and many people told me that the eyebrow was a painful piercing. I was also scared of what my parents would say, they knew what I was going to do and they told me that if I did that, I would have to move away from home, because they would have never accepted something like that. So I had to fight a lot about this piercing and the more I fought, the more I realized that I was doing something right and I was really proud of myself for all the strenght I had.

So on my birthday, I skipped school and went to the studio alone, it was 10 am. I was still sleepy and scared but also very excited.. I was about to get my first piercing! My piercer, named Raffa (I think it's her shortname), was waiting for me, I talked to her a few times before and I felt that I could trust her, she's really funny and outgoing and she always tried to make me feel comfortable about everything. She's like my older sister now, I love her!

I know that a lot of piercers say things like "take a deep breath, count till 3" and stuff like that but my piercer just says "can I go?" and if you say "yes" she starts piercing, if you say "no" she waits until you're ready. So she asked me if she could go on and I was like "yeah, whatever..." (I was really nervous!)

I was expecting so much pain but there was really no pain at all! It felt incredible, I could feel the needle through my skin, it was a wonderful feeling, not really painful, it's a strong feeling (I think that now I'm kinda addicted.....)

When I looked at the mirror I wasn't too happy, it was really weird. But it wasn't even swollen, it looked like I had it since years and I liked that. It was a whole new experience for me, people started looking at me in a different way and it was strange but I liked it.

When my mother saw me, she was a little hurt and I think she cried, my father just told me he was disappointed. A week later, me and my mother started talking again, we talked about the piercing and how it happened and I think she started to like it. My father was very cool about it, he's not as emotional as my mother and even though he will never like it, he respects my decision and I think he's proud of the fact that his son is a little fighter.

After 2 months, I got the tongue piercing and a few weeks ago I got my nipple pierced. So now I have 3 piercings and I plan to get a few more in the next months..the rook, the tragus, the navel, the smiley and maybe a genital piercing. I like the piercings which are not very visible, they're more hidden and personal..and I'm the one who chooses which people deserve to see them.

If you want to get your eyebrow pierced....do it! It's an amazing piercing. There are a few annoying things about the healing process (rejection, infections...) but I think it's worth it. It's not my favourite piercing but it means a lot to me on a personal level. And it's my only piercing that people can clearly see, the first they notice and I'm happy about it because it was my first piercing.

I still have problems with it because it's not healed yet (after 4 months), it got infected twice, sometimes it's a bit swollen (I hope rejection has nothing to do with it but you never know...)...sometimes I like to put the ring instead of the bar and it looks really cute but the bar is a lot more comfortable, I have no problems with it, when I sleep on it, when somebody touches it, it's like I don't even have it.
