umm... isn't the top hole supposed to be ABOVE the eyebrow?
ember 8, 1999, 2 of my friends (Ben & Greg) and myself decided to do some shopping and grab something to eat at the mall. While we were eating, Greg and I started talking about me getting my eyebrow pierced, which we had been talking about a few nights earlier. Ben started laughing when Greg and I mentioned it, so I immediately decided not to go ahead with it, but then Ben said I would suit it more than any of our other friends so I decided to get it done. If I didn't, I would have been sitting at home that night wishing I'd gone through with it. It was now or never, so we thought we should start looking for some places to get it done at. I didn't have enough money to get it done that day, but Ben was set on me getting it so he insisted on lending me the money. So we went walking all around the city looking for the cheapest place, because I thought all piercers would be the same. I couldn't have been more wrong. We finally settled on a place called La Petite, because of it's 'FREE PIERCINGS with any jewelry purchased' sign out the front. I had said no to this place earlier because I didn't want to say to people "I got it pierced at La Petite"... it's not the best sounding place for a 19 year old guy to get a piercing, but aaaanyway... I was going to get a ring, but my friends told me a bar would look better. I'd never seen a bar before, and had no idea what they were talking about, but after I seen one I thought I'd go with it. I entered the room out back and lay down on the couch thing they had. The lady who done the piercing marked where the holes would be with a marker. 1 hole ABOVE the eyebrow and 1 hole BELOW. After checking it out in the mirror I said that was ok and she proceeded with the piercing. It didn't hurt at all, and I could barely feel the needle going through. The worst part was hearing it. Once she had the bar in, she attempted to put the ball on the end and dropped it into my ear! I started thinking to myself about how I'd probably be the first and only person to ever go deaf in 1 ear from getting an eyebrow pierced. I mumbled a few words and started having doubts about getting my piercing done at this place. She told me not to move, and after about 30 seconds, she had fished it out. Not trusting her 'steady' hands, I placed my finger in my ear, just in case. I don't think she was too thrilled to see just how much I trusted her. Once she was finished, she looked at me kinda wierd. I immediately thought "what's her problem?" but later realised she was probably thinking to herself "thats's the worst piercing I've ever done!". I never thought to look at it in the mirror, and just wanted to get outside to show my friends. When they seen it, their reaction wasn't what I expected. They were like "yeah it looks ok" and "oh... yeah it's good". I asked them if it looked stupid, but they both said it looked fine, but it's not what they had imagined. Greg told me he expected the barbell to be bigger. Once I got home and looked at it in the mirror, I couldn't believe what I seen. I wanted to take it out straight away! The top hole wasn't even above my eyebrow... it was smack in the middle! And as for the bottom hole, it was well below the bottom of my eyebrow. Not only were the holes in the wrong place, the barbell she chose must have been about a 10Gg!! It was so small!! It was nothing like I had pictured at all, and made me regret getting it done in the first place. So with a dodgy piercing protruding from my face, I decided to hit the net and see how other peoples looked compared to mine. All of them looked 100% better than mine, and after looking at the ring pics, startes wishing I'd gone for the ring like I wanted in the first place. Everyone who has seen it so far has commented on how it's in the wrong place, and already a few have said that a ring would have suited me better. So as of about 5 minutes before I started writing this, I've decided to let this heal and start again.. with a ring, and this time you can be sure I won't be heading back to La "don't know what the hell we're doing" Petite!
