My brow piercing!!!

thought about getting an eyebrow ring ever since I saw Elka get hers done on Real World Boston. My only other piercings are my ears, but I really liked the way the eyebrow rings looked on people. I finally decided to get serious about it and I began my research into it right here on this site!! I learned so much from reading what others had to say that I was completely ready to have my eyebrow pierced. My friends thought it was a great idea and having no boyfriend, I didn't have to worry about what he would think. I felt like the eyebrow ring would represent my independence and show my parents that I make my own decisions. (I little rebellious, I know) Basically all the people I talked to told me good things about their expierences and they said that it didn't hurt, so I was very excited. I knew quite a few people who had gotten tattoos done at this place called Marc's, so I called to ask if they did piercings and how much it was going to cost me. The girl I talked to was friendly and told me you did not need an appointment, that a ring would cost $40 and a barbell was $60. I also was told to bring my proof of age along so they could photo copy it in case anything went wrong. My mother asked me not to do it, but she gave up realizing that I am 20 years old and I was going to do it whether she said yes or not! I took my 2 best friends Andrea and Jesseca along with me and our guy pal, Dario. Jesseca was too young to get it done, but Andrea decided she would get hers done too. (She took it out a few hours later because her controlling boyfriend made her) It was about a 45 minute drive to get to the place, but I knew it was well worth it. When we got there I felt a little out of place because everyone else had multiple piercings and tattoos, but they were all so friendly and helpful that I felt at ease. I was told Neil was going to do my piercing, so I waited piatently with my friends. I went first promising to tell the truth about any pain I expierenced. Neil came out to get me saying I could take in one friend, so I took Jesseca in with me because we had been friends forever and I knew I could hold her hand if I got nervous. Neil told me what he was going to do and asked if I had any questions. Seeing that he had several piercings including an eyebrow ring, I asked him if it hurt. He told me it was his least painful piercing so I calmed down a little. He cleaned my left eyebrow with alcohol and iodine, then put 2 little marks on my brow with a felt tip pen. I took a look in the mirror and asked if he could bring it in a little but because my eyebrows are very thin at the ends and it didn't even look like it was on my brow. After that, I asked him if the ring was 16 or 18g and he said 18 because it look better on girls that way. That was fine with me. Neil told me to sit back up on the table and that there was no need for me to lay down. He put the clamp on which felt a little funny, but I was ok. When I saw him reach for the needle I grabbed Jesseca's hand and closed my eyes. I knew if I saw the needle go in I would probably freak so I tried to keep my eyes closed through it all. He told me to take a deep breath and I was so busy doing that I didn't even feel a thing. I mean THERE WAS NO PAIN! About 15 seconds later my eyes were open and I was looking at my new eyebrow ring. I loved it. I sat back down and Neil went over how to care for my ring. He told me to wash it with antibacterial liquid Dial, rinse it with saltwater and then use Bactine 2 times a day. He said there was no need to turn it unless it was when I was washing it with the soap, then I could move it back a fourth a little bit. He said the Bactine was cool because it would help numb it up a little bit. He also said that if I wanted to change the ring I could go back in 2 months and he would I've it the ring for over a month now with no regrets and I would reccommend it to anyone wanting a body piercing. It isn't too drastic and it looks very, very good. Just take good care of it! It gets a little bruised for about 2 days, but other than that mine always looks great.
