"I'm going to pass out.."

Well the last time I got a piercing was back in 2005 so I was "itching" for a new piercing. I had been debating on getting my nose done for a while but I wasn't sure if I could handle it with my allergies. I also wasn't sure if it would even look good on me. I was 100% on getting both my eyebrows but I didn't have the money for that. I decided I would just wait for an opportunity to get a new piercing and decide what to do then.

I had a trip planned to go visit a really close friend of mine in North Carolina. When we got there I remembered she is a very good piercer. I told her that I think I'll get my nose done because I am way too lazy to pluck my eyebrows (weird excuse I know but I really didn't want to pluck my eyebrows with fresh piercings). She said she would do it at some point over the weekend.

So that day we go up to the mall and I went and got some jewelry for my nose. We were having a party for her graduation the following day and our friend Nathan wanted to get his eyebrow pierced. Well I wanted to watch so I see him get his eyebrow and Kaela turns to me and asks me if I want to do my nose right then and there. I just said I guess and went and got the jewelry.

Now before I get into the actual piercing I just want to explain something real quick. I have an extreme fear of needles. I hate them. How I got my labret and lip done is beyond me. With both those experiences I felt like I was going to pass out because I was that scared. Not only am I scared of needles but my body does not react well to adrenaline. So not only do I feel faint from the needle but when that adrenaline hits me I feel like I drank wayyy to much and I need to go lie down. But anyway back to the story...

So I get the jewelry and I sit down. Kaela puts on a fresh pair of gloves and starts cleaning my nose. At this point I am freaking out. Since we are in a bathroom we kept getting interrupted by all the people at the party. Finally we told everybody to just wait for a little bit so we can get this over with. So as I'm sitting there having a mini heart attack (not literally) Kaela drops the little ball for the jewelry. It takes us about 20 minutes to find it in the shag carpet we dropped it in. My friend Desiree finds it and hands it to me. Well I am shaking horribly so I drop it AGAIN. It takes another 20 minutes to find the stupid thing. She was smart enough to hand it to Kaela this time. Now we can finally get this over with.

She asked if I was ready and I just told her to do it. I start freaking out and I feel this slight tearing feeling in my nose. Not at all pleasant and that's when I say I am going to pass out. Sure enough I did. I woke up and I'm just looking at Kaela wondering why she is in front of me. Then I see this needle sticking out from my nose. That's when I realized I passed out. I just dropped my head and said oh god.. I told Kaela to get the jewelry in so I can go lie down and drink some water. I was so shocked that I passed out. I probably shouldn't of watched Nathan get his eyebrow done. Finally we got the jewelry in and I was able to lay down with a glass of water and relax.

The piercing itself didn't hurt that bad. I mean it didn't feel amazing but overall wasn't as bad as past piercings. I've had it for almost a month now and I love it. I'm really happy with the way it looks on my face too. I've been having some trouble with it healing though because I keep getting it snagged on things. I never realized how much you touch your nose in a day. It also fell out when I was in the shower last weekend. That scared the hell out of me. I was able to get it back in but since then my nose has been very pist off at me. I've just been cleaning it with sea salt and warm water and making sure I don't hit it. Overall I really am happy I got it done and I would recommend getting it done if you want it. Plus if you don't react badly to needles and adrenaline I bet it will be a more enjoyable experience.

Oh and a quick warning.. I would not recommend having one of your friends pierce you. I trust her and I have done a lot of research on how to do at home piercings. We used the proper needles and jewelry and everything was sterile. If you want to get a piercing just go to a shop and have a professional do it. If you can't afford and know someone who can do it for you make sure they know what they are doing. Happy and safe piercing everyone!
