the first of many
I have been thinking about getting a piercing for a while now, but couldn't figure out what kind I would want. I decided that I wanted to get an eyebrow piercing. I had seen many people with it and it looked really good. I was at a fair with my aunt and my cousin when we were discussing piercings. I told her that I wanted to get my eyebrow pierced and that as soon as I was old enough I was going to get it done. She told me that she thought I would look much better with my nose pierced and that personally she wouldn't trust anything that close to her eye. So I thought about it and the more I saw of people that had them the more I wanted it.
It was my senior year and I have been begging my mom all summer long to let me get my nose pierced, because I was only seventeen and needed parents consent. So I would keep on asking her and she would always say no. which I really didn't understand because that same summer she had let me get a tattoo. But for whatever reason she would always say no.
So Christmas season rolls around and I still wanted my nose pierced. So I thought that maybe I could find some kind of a loop hole where I could trick her in to letting me get it done. We were bowling when she told me that her funds were running a little low this year and that Christmas wasn't going to be very big. So she said if I could only get one gift and one gifts only what would it be. I told her I wanted to get my nose pierced and she said okay.
Pryer to my begging I spent months asking everyone that I saw with a nose piercing where they got it done at and how much it cost. I eventually chose this place in San Leandro across the street from Bayfair mall named orbits. It's a piercing a skate shop that sells almost everything. I went there on my own just to check it out and to get all the information that I needed.
About a week before Christmas I and my mom drove down to San Leandro to orbits. I was so excited, I have wanted to get this done for so long and it was finally happening. When we walked in the shop people greeted us with a smile and a hello. One guy asked us did we need help with anything and we then told him that I was there to get a piercing. The guy then called out there piercer. She came out and said hello and asked me what I wanted done. I told my nose, she then quoted me the price which was 35 dollars for the piercing and the ring. I told her okay and then she asked me for my id. She took one look at my id and said I needed parents consent, my mom came over and started filling out the paperwork. She then took photocopies of both our ids and gave them back to us.
When we finished filling out the paperwork she took me into the back where she had all her equipment. She then started to explain to me what she was doing and what kind of needle she was going to be using. She took out a pen and made a mark on my nose and then gave me a mirror and asked if I like it there. When I picked the spot, she said that she was going to count to three and on the count of three she was going to push the needle in. right before she pushed the needle in, she told me how it was important for me not to go down with the needle, but to keep still as much as possible. When she pushed the needle in, she hadn't pushed it in all the way through yet. She had to get the stud that she was sanitizing for me. She put the stud in and told me that I was going to have to clean two to three times a day and to never over clean it or it would get infected. She told me to go to the store and buy some dial anit- bacterial hand soap and clean it with that. She also said never
to touch it with my bare hands and if I did to clean it right away, because it may get infected.
My overall experience was really great. The people were very nice and my piercing healed perfectly. It's been five years and I haven't had any problems with it at all. I liked the place so much that I took my mom back there and got her nose pierced for her birthday a month later.
