Just a little Poke
this all started about 2 years ago. I have wanted to get my nose pierced for along time now, but never did it, because the girl in my office kept saying how unprofessional it would look, plus opposition from my parents, they are so old fashion it's not even funny!!
So finally, on November 26,1999 I said screw it and we went to Berkeley and I got my nose pierced. Also, my boyfriend was getting is eyebrow pierced and my cousin was going to get her first tattoo there, she was so excited, I didn't really think she would go through with it because she is kind of a wimp, but she got the cutest flower and leaves on her lower back, right above her crack, but it looks so good, now!!
So, back to my story, Took me 2 years to finally say screw it, but
better late than never. So we get to Zebra's, I must say the most awesome place for piercing, and it took me about 20 minutes after we got there to actually decide again to do it. So I walked up to the counter and told the guy I wanted to get my nose pierced, he was like cool, kind of looked stoned! But anyways, he wrote up the order and gave me this whole long speech about after care, made me sign some papers and so forth. Then I stood around for another 10 minutes waiting for the girl to come get me, she was cool, I think she had burgundy hair, anyways, so she's all "ok come back here into the piercing room."
I must say by now I was pretty nervous, I mean, I've gotten my ear cartilage pierced and I even have a tattoo on my ankle, but its been so long I can't remember if either of those hurt, so she sat me down, cleaned my nose and then did what she had to do with all of the equipment to sanitize it. Then she took some powder or something on a toothpick and marked the spot on my nose, it was perfectly placed of course, and I was getting a nostril screw than a ring, so I guess it could only go in a certain spot anyways, so I was shaking, and then she told me to close my eyes, she stuck this plastic tube up my nose and then she stuck the needle through, my eyes watered so bad, you would have thought I was crying, but man it hurt a lot more than I thought it would, but not to bad, then she pulled the nostril screw through and I looked in the mirror at it, and was like wow that's cool, then it gushing blood, she stuck a q-tip up my nose and placed one on the front and stopped the bleeding and that was it.
She asked me how it felt and I said well actually it feels like I have a big booger in my nose!! She didn't laugh, but everyone else did!! Oh yeah I got a free drink, I guess they give you that to get you "back to normal" I was shaking so bad, after I took a couple of sips of the soda I felt a lot better, I guess it gets sugar back into your blood system. In the end, it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought, but it did hurt for about 10 minutes after words, but then after that. I have had no problems with it what so ever, expect for the other day I accidentally almost pulled it out of my nose and it hurt like hell, but the pain went away after a couple minutes, it is very easy to keep clean and take care of and it looks so good, even people who don't like piercing, like half of my oh-so-traditional family members, say it really looks good on me and suits my face! One thing you have to try to remember is don't play with it, it's so hard for me not to touch it, but you can't because you have to make sure that you don't cause infection, because I believe I read somewhere that if it gets infected and you have to take it out, it can cause you to get a bump, I think its called like, kelloid, or a permanent black spot on your nose, and I just don't think that would be as attractive as a little diamond stud or whatever, so remember keep it clean and keep your hands away from it, which is still hard for me, because I know it's there and I like to play with it. I know weird. So that's my experience!! Thanks for letting me share.
