Tongue Piercing ^_^
So here's the story of my Tongue Piercing, it's the first thing i've ever written, so sorry if it's terrible.
When I was fourteen, I was staying with my cousins up in Queesland (Australia) and one day we were out shopping when they both decieded to get there tongues pierced. At the time I was almost completely against any form of piercings and tattoo's, so when they said this I was just thinking how horrible the idea was. The younger of the cousins was only just 15 (female), and the older 16 (male). My 15 year old cousin just had her belly pierced, and my 16 year old cousin had his eyebrow done, both about 2 weeks before I came up to see them.
I was out with my Auntie when they both decided on this, so we went into a piercing place in some sort of mall / shopping centre. The place didn't look right to me, but the other two were just so excited about the idea that they hardly noticed it. The place had white walls with pink everywhere, and other than my male cousin saying how "gay" it was, he didn't care too much. So my Auntie paid for it as a Christmas present and the 16 year old went and sat in this tiny room to get it done. When he walks out his mouth is full of blood and he can hardly talk, but I was facisinated by the piercing. The female coutsin was now terrified of the idea, but my male convinced her to go through with it, and that it didn't hurt. So she went and sat in the room, and about 3 minutes later came out crying and bleeding. But I was in love with the piercing, and even called mum to ask her if I could get mine done, and got a "No" and was hung up on.
This then happened every day of the two weeks I was up there. I would text my mum and not get a reply, until I verbally abused her (Not a good idea) and then got a reply of "No." Both of my cousins couldn't eat properly for two weeks, or even more, but I left at this point. There piercings I then heard got infected and my male cousin just took his out. I still begged my mum, but I kept getting "no", until she concided on the idea of a "not-normal" piercing, which ended up being my tragus.
I kept that in for about 6 months, but I eventually got sick of it and took it out, and still at this point craved the tongue piercing, but I left it alone. I then tried weaving into it, by suggesting worse things, such as stretching my ears, and working my way down. Unfortunately my mum isn't stupid and never gave up. I eventually then got her to agree to an eyebrow ring, but when I talked to my Dad, I got a "No."
So there went that idea. And when I turned 15, I bought the idea of my tongue up again. I got a no from mum, and my dad's response was "Do you want it to suck dick or something?" So I argued for a bit, and I told him that when I turn 16 i'm getting it done anyway. (That's the legal age for signing for yourself where I live).
I then left that alone for another 6 months, when I suggested the idea of "Snake Bites" to my mum (Two off center lip piercings). She told me to talk to dad about it, and I then I asked my step-mum (divorced parents) and she said she would try convince dad. Unfortunatley he has never really accepted the idea of piercings anyway, so there was no hope in hell. That was probably my mums plan.
When it got to about March, I started counting down the days. My birthday is June 15th, 1995 (The date is different on BME because this is my friends account, and he never used it), and from the start of May, I found BME and read lots of stories on tongue piercings. Every single one told me I wouldn't be able to eat for at least a week, so I stressed a little, but still wanted it done.
When it finally got to my birthday it was exam week at school, and luckily for me I had a day off on my birthday, so me and a couple of friends went into town to get my tongue pierced. I went to the best place in Ballarat (Victoria), which is "Premier Piercing and Tattooing". It was the same place where I had my tragus done, and about a week before I went in and talked to the lady at the desk because I was concerned about my tongue webbing being too far forward. There was no issue so I got very excited, and told them i'd be back in wednesday.
So when I walked in, the lady at the desk recognised me straight away, which gave me a good overall feeling about the place. Sara-Ellen then took my student ID and scanned it, while I filled out all the paperwork just confirming that I had eaten in the last two hours, had not consumed alcohol and stuff like that. She then told me that Marie won't be too long, so I sat down. I played on my phone for a few minutes, and then saw a lady walk out crying. I then noticed she had her Septum Pierced and assumed that was why. After that Marie said she was just going to go blow her nose and be back.
When I went through and sat on the bench, I was the most nervous I has ever been in my life. Marie explained everything to me, and when I showed her my tongue told me it would be slightly off centre because of my webbing. I didn't care because she's been doing it forever and I wanted my tongue pierced. So I mouth-washed with some listerine she gave me in a disposable cup, and sat back down. She then re-explained everything to me, and asked me to hold the clamp and take a deep breath. I then just sat there and watched her turn around, thinking the whole time "aren't you going to pierce me?" She then moved her hand quite a bit, and i felt a slight pinch. Turns out she had already pierced me and the pinch was her putting the bar in. After seeing my cousins bleed and cry I was so scared that the anticipation made me not feel the piercing at all! I then went out and paid, and got told that eating for the next 3 day to a week was going to be impossible.
The next day I expected the worst. I got told my tongue would swell and it would be hard to talk and eat. Luckily for me, absolutely nothing happened. No swelling, no bleeding. Nothing. I then went and actually ate breakfast. Then had McDonalds for lunch, and a curry for tea. No trouble at all.
It was 100% fine. No issues at all. My friends were shocked at how quickly i could play with it. I then realised that on the same weekend, I had to go to my dads. When I got there her started making a big deal out of it and how piercings were stupid. Later that night I found a photo of him with a nose piercing and earings, and he can't say anything to me about it at all :)
A big thank you to "Premier Piercing and Tattooing" though. Their work is great and everyone in the area needs to get piercings there. I know if I ever get any more where i'm going.
